Braces Problem??!

Question:

Braces Problem??

I have had braces for close to 3 years now and I was wondering...I brush my teeth pretty good and i floss ( or i will try to floss the best i can). Since you are not allowed to use whitening toothpaste while wearing braces, if you had/have braces, what did you use to brush your teeth?? What did you use or do to keep icky stuff from sticking to the back of your teeth..I have some plaque on the back of my front bottom teeth and I was wondering how can i get rid of it?? I know alot of it wont come off unless i go to the dentist which i go to on the 25th of July..what can i do to keep my teeth clean and plaque free??

Answers:

***By no way is this medical advice only some words on how I keep my mouth healthy.*** I can relate because I have had 3 sets of braces, so I would suggest buying several products. I would look for a pre-brush rinse which loosens plaque and that's used before brushing.

Also, look for tools in the dental section of a drug store. What to look for are the tools that look like the dentist or orthodontist uses they are used to remove food and build-up from the surface and between teeth. Follow the instructions on products you buy. Remember that you must be careful using the tools for removing plaque because you don't want to injure yourself by scraping too hard on the teeth or injuring your gums.

Keep up the brushing and you might want to brush more often if you are having plaque build-up. For sure brush every night and every morning, but I would suggest to after every meal. And switch toothpaste if yours isn't working well. Floss daily and whenever you get anything stuck between your teeth because if anything's left in between the teeth for a long period of time the tooth can become damaged. Also, if you can't brush after every meal at least rinse your mouth with water so whatever your eating doesn't just stay on your teeth. Best of luck to you!
