A toothy problem.?!

Question:

A toothy problem.?

I have recently been to the dentist and he agrees that i need to have three front crowns replacing, as they are discoloured and one one of the teath is showing its root. My dentist has said that i cannot get this done on the NHS and will have to pay a little over a £1,ooo punds to have this treatment done. My question is....can i get this done elsewhere any cheaper or free.
My second question is that i also have a malaclusion and a missalignment of my lower jaw, that causes an underbight, meaning that i cannot place my top teath over my lower teeth, my question for this is.....can this be corrected, and is this a job for the dentist or should i see my GP...
Serious answers pleas and preferably from a qualified dentist.

Answers:

Hi i am a dental nurse...your problem with the missalignment of your lower jaw can be corrected by having impressions taken and a 'splint' made, this is something that fits on your lower teeth and trains the jaw to go back to where it 'should be'. This may also help if you have neck problems?

As for your crowns, i doubt very much if you can have them free of charge and the charge does sound about right. Does your dentist offer a interest free finance scheme?

If you have regular problems it might be an idea to look into Denplan (or a plan like that) where you pay monthly, as long as you are dentally fit you may join.x
