even though i barley ever eat..

Well when I had braces, I couldn't eat hard foods like the ones mentioned above, when I just had the braces put on and for a couple days after they were tightened. About 2 weeks after they'd been put on and 2 or 3 days after they were tightened each time, I could eat anything though - including hard foods. You get used to the braces and it's just as if they weren't there. My orthodontist never told me I couldn't eat certain foods except from gum.
