My gums are sore, right behind my bottom back molars?!

Question:

My gums are sore, right behind my bottom back molars?

I can't understand why. It's in the very back, on the left side, on the bottom, right behind my teeth. The edges, by the back molars, are really red. When I bite down, it hurts, not necessarily in a way that's super painful, but it does hurt. The only way I can explain it is like the feeling you have when a tooth's growing in. But a tooth couldn't be growing in, because I have all my adult teeth, and my wisdom teeth are out. Any ideas?

Answers:

Could be anything, really. Could be an abscess, could be gingivitis, etc. I'd suggest going to see a dentist right away. They can take x-rays and see if there is anything going on, like an infection.
