Gingivitis? what now? i need much help now~?!
Question:
Gingivitis? what now? i need much help now~?
I am in terrible pain from gingivitis. Is that normal? Does gingivitis result in pain? What can i do to relieve pain? I have flossed and brushed my teeth. I had my teeth cleaned on Monday, but pain started on Saturday. Is that normal? Cleaning teeth was to relieve gingivitis, but in this case, i got gingivitis. I am seeing the dentist tomorrow, but i need some head ups.

Answers:
You've had gingivitis for a while now. The cleaning probably is just making you feel the inflamation a little more.
Flossing and brusing just once or twice won't make it go away. Gingivitis takes some time to get better. Just keep brushing/flossing regularly and you'll see improvement. Each day will get a little better.
Try brushing with a soft bristle toothbrush. That will be gentler on your gums than a medium or coarse.
If the pain is too much, take some Advil or Motrin. They are anti-inflamatories.
