hey dont worry at all. the procedure is done under local anaesthesis and takes at least 2 sittings. u wont have any pain then what r u afraid of??? come on there r so many more scary things in the world. dont waste ur precious fear on a stupid RCT. believe me u r going to live even after the treatment.

Root canal is not that scary. Although the process can be very long and repetitive, it is done under anesthetic, so you feel nothing when it is being done. But, it can not be done in one session, you will be asked to come back in a week time to get another session to avoid the root canal.

i think u have to make two separate visits. take 2 aspirin yourself before u go. its probably 2 x 30min sessions
but at least ur tooth ache thats been wearing you out will have gone so whatever it it its worth it. good luck hope it goes smoothly

people always joke about how root canals are so horrible. i got one a couple years ago, and it wasn't bad at all. it's more a pain to hold your mouth open for so long, than the work itself lol.

don't worry about it. going to the dentist is scary.. but it's really not that bad. they put topical gel on your gums before the give you novacaine, so that doesn't hurt at all. they may also give you the 'laughing gas'.. which isn't scary either. it relaxes you, and kind of makes you feel silly lol.

but good luck, don't worry too much. trust me, it's a lot less scary than you think :)

First, it's not all that different from a filling. They will give you medication to prevent the pain. Like a fillling, they will drill. The difference is that it's a bit deeper. You won't feel it except for the normal drill feelings.

I had one done about 35 years ago, so I can't tell you how they do it now, except that it's probably even easier and better. If I could survive it as a young teen, I think you can handle it.
