Right ear pain with the palate expander?!

Right ear pain with the palate expander?
My Daughter has had her palate expander in for a little over a month now,all the turnings are done and she has now said that her right ear hurts and it is very sore to the touch and kinda of hard to hear out of. Then it went away and now it is back again, no fever so I was wondering if it was the palate expander causing the presure and pain and if anyone else has experienced this? Thanks.....

I am an orthodontic assistant. I don't think that it should be related at all to the expander. But just to make sure I would go directly to her orthodontist as soon as they open up tomorrow. I know that the doctor I work for would be very considerate to your concerns. I hope all goes well.
