Do all people grow wisdom teeth?!

Question: I used to think wisdom teeth meant ALL the ADULT teeth. But recently I discovered it meant the 3rd molars at the back of the mouth.
I discovered the one at my right top grew out recently (thankfully straight) and was wondering if all people actually grow these things out? Where are my other 3? Will they grow out? It looks a bit strange having one on my right and nothing on my left... Is it true that some people don't grow them at all? Why is this the case?

Long question but hope some of you can help me answer them.

A wisdom tooth is the late teen or dawn-of-tween tooth as it usually occurs between ages 16 to around 20/21. Everybody does not have a wisdom tooth. Very few people have gaps in place of the wisdom teeth. Only few people within a population has this condition ----and the dentists consider it a dental disease known as hypodontia.

nope i only had three i didn't have another some people just don't get and their dang lucky too saves em some pain

i hate teeth like vampires

Actually No! Some ppl just aren't born with them, and some ppl's never grow in. And some of us have to deal with one, two or all four of them grow in. Don't worry your not alone ;D

No not all some people never get any

no not all people grow wisdom teeth. my brother didnt have any and i only have the top two. its probably better you dont get the other three they are not necessary.

Most people have at least some wisdom teeth. However, I got only three of mine and I know of people who only got one or two.

no not everyone gets them but i myself am in the process of growing one in the back right side of my mouth

nope

I got all four even though I have crowed teeth and a narrow palate. But my husband and 2 of my children have them but never came through, there by causing problems down the road. Impacted and that causes infection. Get an xray and find out if yours are there, so you won't have problems later on.

well, I have heard stories that because humans are starting to remove wisdom teeth, that many many years down the road we just will evolve to NOT HAVING THEM!! They serve no responsible purpose to most people and evolution will probably eat it away.

Under primitive circumstances our teeth would be in horrible shape, thus, the function of the wisdom teeth is to replace those molars that might have fallen out. Thankfully we are now civilized and have our natural teeth for most , if not all, of our lives; however, our wisdom teeth still come out.

Most people have four but some have less or even more. I had six (two extra on the top part of my mouth). Yours will eventually come out (they take forever to fully come out and usually don't come out all at the same time).

Good Luck

Nope- not everyone gets them. I'm almost 51 and they're no where in sight!

people call them wisdom teeth because they erupt at the age of 18 on wards. That means we get wisdom, maturity after 18 years. 90% of us get all the teeth including wisdom teeth but some times genetacly they dont errupt. Jaw size has become small & the amount of teeth erruting is the same ,so some times they grow in different angles, which cause pain & need to be removed surgically.
