What hurts more getting braces or getting your wisdom teeth taken out?!

Question: I've had both. Having your wisdom teeth out only hurts for a short time and they usually give you pain medicine. But braces hurt when they put them on and every time they adjust them so it is kind of constant with no medication.

Braces didn't hurt for me. I've never had my wisdom teeth out, but since braces didn't hurt at all, I'd say having the teeth out.

I use to wear braces for quite a long time and there was just this dull ache constantly so in my experience id say braces !! :)

the first because on the second you got anestesia.

I am going to have to say wisdom teeth. I got all of them taken out at once. I was in pain and swollen all over my face. But I am not trying to scare you, I have never had braces so I can't say any more or less.

I've had braces, which didnt really hurt at all. Although I havent had my wisdom teeth out, for my braces I had 4 pre-molars taken out, 3 of them didnt really hurt, but one was quite painful. Plus you need injections with extractions, which can sometimes be a bit painful. So I'd definitely say wisdom teeth extractions. But if you have been told your wisdom teeth need to be taken out, then there is obviously a good reason for it, and I would go through the pain to avoid the problems later.

2 of my friends have braces and so did my cousin - they can be quite painful according to them - you can also get headaches too - but they soon adapted - not sure about having wisdom teeth out - i think you have to be knocked out for that - good luck

i was 13 when i got braces, and for a few days after my mouth was sore ( this was many moons ago ) but a few years ago after years of discomfort i had my wisdom teeth out ( they were useless and didnt make me non the wiser ) i was black and blue for two weeks i even had stiches ,, so i would say the wisdom teeth out ( wonder why they are called wisdom teeth is it because of the age you are when they come through )

The recovery after your wisdom tooth removal is the worst (at least it was for me).
The surgery doesn't hurt because you are on medications or sedated.

Just remember to not smoke (if you do that) or suck anything after your removal. This can cause dry sockets which are really painful.

getting braces doesnt hurt, just feels a bit weird and uncomfortable. i can imagine getting teeth pulled out would hurt a lot!

i think taking teeth out would hurt more cause the recovery stage is dreadful (my poor friends had to go through that!!!) and i have braces.. they don't hurt as much as taking out a wisdom tooth would (i'm guessing though.. i've never had my wisdom teeth out) so i'll just pick that the teeth was hurt more..

just my 2 cents :P
