Squeeky filling?!

Question:

Squeeky filling?

I just had a molar filled on Friday. When I chew on that side of my mouth it feels strange and actually squeeks - like it is lose. This is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me. Has anyone experienced this? Did the tooth settle down with time or did the dentist need to do additional work to resolve it?

Answers:

Most likely the bite on your new filling is a little high. A lot of times when you are numb, you don't bite down hard enough to make a mark with the bite paper. Just make an appointment with your dentist for a bite adjustment. Make sure you tell them you just had the filling placed and there shouldn't be a charge. Try not to wait to long, a high filling could lead to a slight toothache. Good luck!
