She needs to eat foods that are soft but need to be chewed not liquid. For example bananas are great at the beginning. Also tell her she will need to learn to place food on each side of her mouth (most people tend to chew on one side) and this will help the denture not become unstable. Most patients tell me bread is the hardest thing to chew. Good Luck!!!

use the blender-fix her favorite then blend it up

She should try pretty much anything she is wants to eat. Her body will tell her what the limits are. She should make sure she is getting proper nutrition through the use of products like ensure and other protein sources.

She should advance her diet as her mouth allows- things like tuna salad are easy to chew, pasta, soup, mashed potatoes, cut up canned peaches, ice cream and pudding are some good things to start with.

It is very important to keep trying new things. If it doesn't work today, she should try again in a few days and never write off anything that she thinks she will never eat again.

I have full dentures and if she wants to contact me off the board I would be happy to give her some advice.

She should be able to eat just about anything now. I could eat everything in about 4 days.
