Surgery help please!?

i have to go get my wisdom teeth SURGICALLY removed (not pulled i will be knocked out) i don't have to get it done for awhile and my friend said it doesn't hurt in fact she called me that day! i'm still scared. has anyone had this done and what were your reactions?

im already getting it done i just want to know on a scale of 1 being horrible and 10 being not bad how the pain is?

I was asleep to pull out all 4. Two impacted, 2 fully in. It was really the best thing ever done to my mouth. Before then, I ignored them for 2 years and was getting jaw, head and ear aches. But when i took them out, the pain went with it.
Before the surgery, the oral surgeon explained everything then asked about my medical history or any allergies. When I got in the chair, they put monitors on me. Then the doc gave me some laughing gas. It was great, lol. It made me woozy and super relaxed. Then he gave me the shot in the iv. I was out immediately. When i woke, it felt like being woken up without getting enough sleep. It felt really strange to go in w/the teeth and come out w/o them and have no memory of it, lol. The whole thing was quick. It took 30 mins.
Ask your doc if you can take the pain meds soon. I didn't. I was numb and thought to myself,"that's it??" But when it wore off, it hit hard and I was moaning and crying in pain. The pain meds really helped. I made sure to keep up with them so I barely felt anything. They did make me sleepy though. Take it easy for a few days and be sure to follow the at home care instructions from your doc. Pain and swelling peaks at about day 3 but goes down from there. It took me about 5-7 days to feel back to normal and back to my reg diet. Good luck!
