Lost filling, no money, what to do?!

Question:

Lost filling, no money, what to do?

I am in the US. I lost a filling in a molar six months ago and have been ignoring it because I have no money (nearly homeless really). It doesn't seem to be hurting more now than it did right then, and is painless unless I chomp down on it. However, obviously I'm sure I'm in for something bad and I know I can't ignore it forever. Are there charity dentists, or dentists who will put me on a payment plan, or anything??? Isn't this going to cost me hundreds and hundreds of dollars? Somebody please advise...I'm going to call around about it on Monday but am feeling very anxious about the expense right now. Thanks!

Answers:

Hi Lisa,

Find your local dental college, they will do it for free.

I had my root canal done at the dental college where I went to grad school. My regular dentist was very impressed with it.
