Braces after extraction?!?!

Question:

Braces after extraction?!?

I had 4 teeth pulled for braces 3 days ago... 2 on top and 2 on bottom..... they were the first bicuspids for anyone who doesnt know what bicuspids are they are the teeth next to your molars right before your canines. well anyway I havent gotten the braces put on yet... but my question is.... how is the space going to close up? because the dentist said my uppers were crowded and i understand how they might close the space but my lowers are barely crooked. If they were to line the bottoms up there would still be space between my teeth. WHAT ABOUT THAT? how are they gonna close that up? whats my teeth gonna look like?????? im terrified.. please help!

Answers:

They will close the space all the way, so don't worry about that. You will not have gaps when they finish. The will most likely start by using a power chain to pull your cuspids back. A power chain (just in case your not familiar with it) is just like your colors but they are all connected to each other. They'll attach it from your molar to your cuspid on each side. That's normally what we start with when someone has extractions. It's not scary. There are alot of different ways to close space and they are all easy. You'll probably get sore but that's it. We have wires that close space, we have the power chains, we have little rubber bands that go from a hook on your wire to your molar, and we have closing coil springs that go in the same place. You'll most likely start with the power chain though.
