Are braces unhealthy because they force your teeth to shift?!

Question: Teeth are anchored in your gums. If they're shifted, is their deterioration speeded?

braces push your teeth into a better alignment> you have to keep them really clean though. spend an extra minute cleaning them twice/ three times a day. I am a dental nurse and our orthodontist removes braces part way through treatment if teeth are not kept clean enough. look after them they are all you will get. wait until you see the results!

no, you have it backwards. Braces push teeth that are out of alignment back to where they should be.

your teeth will not deteriorate due to braces.
i had braces and there are a few things you need to keep in mind. one is you have to brush and floss good. it's hard to keep your teeth clean and you can get cavities easier. another thing is if your teeth move so fast you can get what is called blunted root tips. the roots will kinda "shrink" if your teeth are moved to fast.
otherwise, all is good
