A question about dentists?!

Question: My dad has a toothache and he went to the doctors. The doc gave my dad some pain killers to minimize the pain and then asked him to come back three days later to extract the tooth. I would like to know why they ask you to do that..i mean, ask you to come back in three days or the next day. The same thing happened to me when i had to extract mine. Any medical reasons?

i'll give u a pure answer.
generaly when ur tooth gives pain, that means that there is a problem in the pulp inside the canals or the ligament that connect the tooth with boon...
the presence of pain { mainly when it's tender} make the anesthesia very difficult to take place.... that means pain while extraction or needs more and more anesthesia....

but when u take the pain killers, it also work as anti inflammatory, that makes the anesthesia work better and u'll have pain less extraction, and u'll say that this dentist is good

Doesn't sound right but Maybe it was infected and Doc wanted to wait for the infection to clear before he made a decision to extract or not to extract ?

First off, why didn't you ask the dentist yourself?

Now the answer (in english);
Teeth, unfortunately, don't really heal, unlike the rest of your body. That's why there's no magic treatment for cavities other than fillings, and same goes with root canals

There must have been something wrong with the inner workings of the tooth which led the dentist to resort to having to remove the tooth.
Dentistry is pretty simple actually.

Probably a scheduling thing. Since it's not life threatening, it can wait a bit. And the doc needs to make sure he has enough time on the schedule to perform the procedure.

i didnt know doctors extracted teeth.
but if he had to wait and return 3 days later it was to give the tablets time to work. Antibiotics dont start to work until after 48 ish hours have passed.
