Wisdom tooth and gum swelling?!

Question:

Wisdom tooth and gum swelling?

i had my wisdom teeth taking out on june 8th,(last week) on the bottom right side of my mouth my gums are VERY swollen. On tuesday(the 5th day) i had this awful taste in my mouth. when i went to do my salt water rinse, i noticed a greenish-yellow fluid oozing from the bottom right side. the fluid is rancid. it smells bad and taste worse. i called the oral surgeon and actually went back to the office for them to look at it. They decided it was not a dry socket, but had never had anything like this before. They said it did not look infected. They flushed out the area with warm water and got out as much of the fluid as they could, and sent me on my way. However a day later, my gum is just more swollen, and i still have a lot of gross fluid coming out of my cheek/gum, and it is more painful than before i went to the office. and i only have 3 800mg ibuprofen left... Does anyone know what this is? or maybe think it might be? anything you think i could do to help get rid of it?

Answers:

It sounds like pus and is a definite signal that you have a serious infection which could require antibiotics

I am not a Doctor but the Doctor that you have is missing the mark

Good Luck
