Everybody has had to adjust their speech with braces and/or retainers. th best thing to do is to practice speaking in order to speed up your tongue getting use to the new hardware

I am 12 and I have never had braces.
My teeth are fine though.
Not that I can recall. When I had jaw surgery, yes, my mouth was wired shut for 8 weeks, kind of hard to talk then. But otherwise, no problem. Take care.
