My face wasn't swollen after I got my wisdom teeth out, but it's possible that your face could be a bit swollen, that's normal. Check with the dentist who does the surgery and ask him what to expect. He/she will give you directions to follow for the first two days, about eating soft foods, drinking lots of fluids, and not doing anything too strenuous (because you had surgery and your body needs to recover.)
Also check about going to the party. The dentist will probably tell you to take easy at the party and be sure to not have any alcohol (could make the gums bleed and also bad if you're taking any medicine.)
At the party, explain that you had your wisdom teeth out and your friends will understand. Good luck with everything!

It's very difficult to tell whether you'll be swollen. Everyone responds differently to having teeth removed. The best thing you can do to help keep swelling down is to use ice packs, but make sure with your dentist first that it's ok to put ice packs on your face.

Ouch. I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 18. They were all impacted and I looked and felt like I had been beaten with pipes for about 5 days afterwards.

If this is one tooth and it has already erupted through the gums it should be a straight forward removal.
I'm thinking if you ice your face it will not be swollen by Wednesday.

I just had one removed 2 days ago and it was a lower wisdom tooth that was partially erupted and after the surgery I felt no pain and there was no swelling at all. I think it all depends on the person and the trauma that occurs on your jaw.
