Is i go to sedation dentistry & if the dentist touches my nerve, will I feel it & wake up from my deep sleep?

I am terrified of the dentist & I want to sleep through the process of my root canal. is that a good idea? is it expansive?

I think it is expensive if you don't have insurance. I don't and they are going to put me to sleep. It is going to cost me around almost $500 for that. Well at least thats what my bill says. I think it just depends on whether or not you have insurance and also the dentist you are dealing with. You should go see them and get an exam and x-rays then they can give you an estimate of how much everything will cost. Trust me it is worth it and you will know the cost way ahead of time before any treatment begins.

Also don't be scared. They might not even have to do a root canal so don't get worked up over nothing. You might just need a filling and if you do need a root canal it probably won't be so bad. I have heard lots of people say it doesn't hurt so much. I am terrified of the dentist too but I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled out soon. I understand how you are feeling but don't worry just remember that it's for the best...you only have one set of teeth after all! :-)
