I've heard opinions from both sides, yes and no, i would go towards no because it will be removing pressure from your teeth, but i heard retainers are annoying! but i sure hope neither are bad cuz m getting mine off soon! YAYA FOR US!

Not when they take them off, once theuir off your teeth will feel very tender. I got them off August of last year :) But anyways shouldnt hurt it didnt hurt for me.

it was uncomfortable but it didn't hurt when i had mine off Xx

Mine didn't hurt at all. They tell you that it will take like four hours but I don't remember it taking nearly that long.
Your gums might be swollen afterward. Don't freak out, floss religiously and they'll go down within a week.

I got my braces off on Thursday and it didn't hurt! The drilling off of the glue was really uncomfortable/weird.

just ask for the laughing gas(Nitrous oxide) You wont feel ****

CONGRATS!!! I had to wear mine for 4 years! It doesn't hurt as much as your monthly tighten!!! :-) Have fun showing off your $10,000 smile! :-D

no it doesn't hurt at all it just feels weird cause your teeth are used to having the braces on. GOOD LUCK!!

Congrats on the straight smile now! This is what you have been waiting for! To answer your question... No, it will not hurt "a lot". From experience of my own (2 sets of braces), it just feels really funny at first. Face it, you've had this uncomfortable metal in your mouth for a while, and it took you a while to get used to them. Same goes when they come off. Your teeth and gums may be a bit sore at first, but shouldn't last more than a few days. Your teeth will also feel very smooth and slick. Oh, and by the way, you may have to learn how to drink from a straw again.. lol, but that is the worst of it. What they will do is remove the braces with special instruments which loosen the bonding material. The actual brace removal is very quick, a matter of minutes, and is very painless. PROMISE! So you can relax now!

The best advice I can give you is WEAR YOUR RETAINER RELIGIOUSLY!

Hope this helped you! :)

no but you'll feel like you have buck teeth =S
