Can crossbites effect speech ?!

Question: I have a cross bite, where my upper teeth in the front over lap my bottom teeth in the front, this also causes my upper lip to stick out forward more. I also noticed that I have trouble make the " th " sound and speaking sometimes. Does this mean that my cross bite is effecting my speech, or is it just a coincidence ?

Yes they can sometimes cause speech problems. I have a crossbite too, but it isn't affecting my speech at all. It depends on the person though.
