Does getting braces hurt like hell?!
Question: i'm about to get braces but I'm not even good toothache let alone the pain of braces. does it hurt? how long does the thing normally take?

Okay so im getting braces too. i only have my brackets on so far which are the little squares that go on your teeth. The are put on with glue, it took 30 minutes to get them onto my teeth. That was not painful at all, i do NOT have wires yet so i dont know how painful that is but i dont imagine it to be. The reason i dont have wires is b/c i have to get 4 teeth removed so far i only got 2 removed, next week 2 more will be taken out. Now that was pretty painful...so unless you have to get any teeth removed i dont think you should be worried about pain. The only thing you will probably feel is pressure from the tightening of the wires around your teeth.
nah i had braces for 3 YEARS, and when they put em on it doest hurt at all. later on that night it might hurt a lil and the next few days it might hurt a lil bit to chew hard foods. just take aspirin. when they take em off it doesnt hurt either
It didnt hurt too much at all. Advil worked just fine the first day or two. Good LUck
No, it really doesn't hurt. I've had my braces on for about 3 months now. When I first had them on my teeth didn't hurt. Nothing... I was completely fine. Every once in awhile you'll have like a sore tooth but nothing too major. Nothing an ibuprofen won't fix. You'll be fine.
no. i had them when i was 10. its not bad. the worst part is getting them tightened and thats not bad either just a lilttl bit sore
I wouldnt say it hurts like hell, but it can be pretty painful. It gets really sore a few hours after you have them put on. Then it gets really sore each time you have them tightened. And if you have to have any extra stuff like rubberbands or the metal bands around your molars, that stuff can hurt pretty bad. I'm just being honest, it's not fun at all and it does suck, but it will eventually be over and you'll have straight teeth!
i think it depends on the person, for me they were painful for about two weeks, but for some it isn't painful at all. So yeah, it depends on your pain tolerance and the sensitivity of your teeth I think.
It hurts for a week... Just dont eat anything hard for like the first 2 weeks. After that you dont even notice
