Best way to clean retainers with this stubborn black stuff on it?

I think it's calcium buildup as I've heard from others.... it's getting really annoying, whats the easiest way to get rid of it? And has anyone had this black stuff on their retainers?

Answers:

I soak my retainer every so often in water with a denture-cleaning tablet in it. Seems to work pretty well.
