for toothache. A friend of mine has given me co-codimol capsules that were prescribed for them. I have tried different pain-killers but nothing gives any lasting relief, but I am tempted to try one. Are they just a stronger pain-killer as I have never heard of them? They are 1000mg per tablet.

Co-codamol tablets contain paracetamol and codine.
There are 2 strengths - 500mg paracetamol plus 8mg codine OR 500mg paracetamol and 30mg codine.
They are great painkillers, but it is important not to take too many as they contain paracetamol. 2 tablets every 6 hours is more than enough. Oh, and the codine may make you constipated!
