My tooth hurts, it comes and goes over the past few days?!


Question: It's my back right tooth, and my dentist said well since it doesn't hurt call me back in a week. he took an x-ray and said nothing was wrong. what can I do to stop the pain
and when I went to the dentist the guy didn't even look at me just said come back in a week he didn't even look in my mouth

Ok, first of all, if your tooth hurts, then something IS WRONG. So change dentists. My teeth aren't very sensitive, and one of them was hurting on and off at one point. I went in to the dentist and ended up having to get a root canal. So if your tooth is bothering you this much, you definitely NEED to go see a dentist and get it checked out. Teeth don't hurt when there's nothing wrong.

first, go to another dentist. ask the new dentist to look for a cavity in the back tooth because that could be causing an infection, which means you could need a root canal. put ice on the tooth. if you feel a really strong sharp pain then its probably an infection, if not it could be a cavity, or you could be clenching your teeth.

It might be infected. That happened to me once and I end up getting a root canal. If I were I'd switch to another dentist . . . he sounds like an a*sshole.
