What are caps on teeth??
my friend said she knows someone who is gettin caps on her teeth but what is it??

Answers:
A cap (or crown) covers the tooth, much like a baseball cap covers your head. Usually it is put over the tooth because it has had a root canal, has a large filling or has broken. You can also have something called veneers which are just a facing that is put over a tooth, much like have sculptured fingernails (fake fingernails) are put over your real fingernail. In both cases the tooth must be prepared which involves using a dental drill to remove a small portion of the tooth so they fit properly and with either, they are cemented onto the tooth.
