What's the best way to get rid of a canker sore in my mouth?!

I rinse with saltwater! Simple, just put salt in your water, and gargle. Mouthwash wil work too as it rids of bacteria.
Nothing does. They go away on their own in 10-20 days.
I use alumn. Man it burns but it sure dries them out quickly. It works faster than whiskey too. I might recommend to drink lots of the whiskey and then put alumn on it. hahaa. That part was a joke sort of. :) Seriously alumn powder is in the spice section of the grocery store. Get your finger wet and cake it on.
Buy some milk-of-magnesia tablets (Phillips) and place a tablet directly over the cold sore and allow it dissolve slowly in your mouth. There's something in it that draws out the acidic juices in your mouth and helps the canker sore heal.
My mother first used this little cure on me 40 yrs ago, and it never fails to help alleviate the pain and make it go away pretty fast - good luck! :) You could probably do the same thing with a Rolaids or Tums tablet; it's the same principle.
