Alcohol with Amoxycillin?!
Question: My dentist has given me a course of antibiotics, but its my birthday tomorrow and I wondered if having one or three birthday drinks will undermine/ruin the treatment?

Your safe to have a drink whilst taking this antibiotic, just dont drink to much as the antibiotic will make you feel like you have had more alcohol than you have actually had!
it isnt recommended, but i dont think one sesh will be the end of the world...
It shouldnt with amox, but dont go crazy!!!
I'm pretty sure you can drink on those, theres only 1 or 2 types of anti biotic you can't drink with.
Do you not have the leaflet it came with? If not give nhs direct a ring if you're in the uk or contact a pharmasist
It's not the best thing to do - but you should be ok with Amoxycillin.
It's Metronidazole that you really need to be careful with - having a drink while taking that will make you very, very sick.
I think you would be OK, but I always heard it just decreases the effectiveness of the antibiotic to drink alcohol with it. But a few drinks on your birthday seems like it wouldn't hurt you too much.
You can drink alcohol while you are on Amoxicillin. If you take your amoxicillin with alcohol (at the same time) it can possibly cause an upset stomach and other similar symptoms. It is best to refrain from alcohol while on antibiotics. If you choose to drink alcohol you should put some time between when you take your antibiotic and consume alcohol.
I've had a couple o' wee gingers whilst on Amoxycillin. It made me feel a bit queasy!! I think you should be o.k. as long as you don't go over the score. Have a great birthday....

You should be OK. Antibiotics usually mess up your stomach anyway as will too much booze. Drink up!
More than 2 and you will be flat on your back lol
You will be ok if you just have a few drinks, but beware the Amoxycillin will make the effects of the alcohol stronger, so it may seem like you have drunk more than you really have.
If you drink water in between each drink it may be better, boring I know, but at least you won't get sick!
