Can ACT mouthwash fill a cavity?!

Question:

Can ACT mouthwash fill a cavity?

It says it restores minerals to soft spots. Does that mean if the dentist said I have a spot that is going to be a cavity and need to get it filled, can I use the mouthwash to prevent it?

Answers:

OTC mouthwash with fluoride are just as strong as what is in your toothpaste. Rinsing may help get the fluoride between the teeth, but you must get the plaque off the area too. Keeping the area flossed and brushed will help keep the area from getting any worse. Not drinking and eating sweets on a regular basis is also very important. You phrased it as the "spot is going to be a cavity" and therefore just being watched. Keep it clean and use fluoride rinses or toothpaste. Remember if this is between the teeth....you have to floss to keep it clean. Toothbrushes don't reach in between teeth.

If the decay is through the enamel wall it needs to be filled
