I got my Damon braces a week ago. I was in the worst pain. My mouth inside is full of wax and my tongue is full of little sore marks.

I am still on soft foods and to be honest I am totally fed up with them. I know the pain will stop, but bloody hell I had no idea it was going to be like this.

I am not enjoying eating at all. boo hoo hoo

Roll the wax up and put it over your brackets, load up on pain killers! good luck

Can anyone tell me when the brackets in your mouth finally smooth out? do they>?

Well you can get pain relievers. Like advil which i take. Tenntonol and much more

(best answers plzzz)

If they hurt you that much, I would think you would want to call your dentist, maybe they could need a little bit more fine tuning, and we can't help with that here.

Call your dentist and see what they recommend for pain since you are in their care.

For tonight, it shouldn't hurt to take some Tylenol or ibuprofen or something along those lines.

Take some Tylenol or Advil. Try eating soup, baked potatoes, yogurt, apple sauce, or chili. It you think you can handle something a little harder try soft crust pizza or chicken fingers. I lived off of baked potatoes when I first got mine.

My braces are hurting because i just got them yesterday and it is the same case with me. My teeth are very sensitive when bitting down.

I keep taking pain re-lever and instead of putting my teeth together and biting down I just let my teeth not touch together.

I ate soup and mostly drank it instead of eating it and slowly chewed with my back teeth

Ahh Damon braces.

Cold foods and anything that you won't even need to think of chewing.

Well, as strange as this is going to sound, the pain is a good thing! That means that your teeth are shifting and they are doing their job. I always like a little bit of discomfort because I feel like I'm getting my money's worth. Of course, you can take some common pain relievers, and that will reduce some of the discomfort when you go to eat or close your mouth. Just eat things that are softer, and chop your food into bite-sized pieces, use a fork and guide it back to your back teeth and only chew with your back teeth. It's not good for example to take a slice a pizza and just take a bite out of it. This way, you'll reduce some of the discomfort! It will fade in a few days as you adjust and become more tolerant. It just pretty much means that your teeth are a little bit more loose so that they have the ability to move, it just makes a big deal about it. Good luck!
