Is lymph node swelling in my neck, usual after having my wisdom teeth extracted?!

Question:

Is lymph node swelling in my neck, usual after having my wisdom teeth extracted?

The lymph node in the right side of my neck became swollen, AFTER I had my wisdom teeth extracted. Never had a problemwith this before. It subsides some, then swells up and becomes painful upon physical exertion( I play baseball), Went back to my oral surgeon and he says I'm coming down with flu. My Dr. says, no flu, see your oral surgeon.....Any ideas? Anyone have lymph node swelling, AFTER extractions?

Answers:

You could have some infection..that's what your lymph nodes do..When you have some infection they swell.
