What are spacers?!

Question: something about what they put in your teeth when you get braces.

Answers: something about what they put in your teeth when you get braces.

The are tiny donut shaped rubber bands that are placed between your back teeth to open a small space. Your orthodontist will need the space to place bands, thin metal rings around your back molars.

They are annoying and feel like food stuck between your teeh. The initial feeling will pass within 20 minutes or so.

After a few hours, your teeh may feel tender and even a little loose, which is normal. You can take something OTC for pain if you need it. The discomfort should not last more than 2 days. Your spacers should stay in your mouth 7-10 days. Stay away from stick stuff and do not floss betqween those teeth.
