Complicated tooth extraction , unsure if normal?!

Question:

Complicated tooth extraction , unsure if normal?

I had 2 teeth extracted (lower left wisdom tooth & the tooth right next to it. It was a very difficult extraction. It has been 1 and half weeks since the removal. The stitches were removed about half a week ago. I'm still having some slight pain occasionaly (not all the time), can still feel the holes & still to tender to eat on that side of my mouth, along with I still have some black coloring right where the tooth next to the wisdom tooth was taken out (looks like it did color wise being black, when the stitches were in place) however of course the dentist removed all the stitches all ready. I have done plenty of salt water rinses including several after the stitches were removed. Is all of this still normal?

Answers:

yes that is normal..it takes a couple of weeks after you get the stitches removed for the soreness to go away...i work with an oral surgeon..your on the right track..just continue with the salt water rinses and take an ibprophen if you need for the soreness...feel better
