Ashley, I am 24 years old and I am not a parent but I am a dental hygienist and I am telling you this...bad idea. I HIGHLY recommend piercing some other area! The mouth is FULL of bacteria. Did you know a human bite is WORSE than a DOG bite bc our mouths have so much crapp in them...they easily get infected and what happens to a lot of people is the flick the ball or play with it on their teeth constantly chipping them over time - its just a cosmetic nightmare for you down the road. IF you do not listen to me about the piercing PLEASE get a plastic head for the top of it and not a metal one. They make them in clear I think too...no parents can see and a bit safer for your teeth too...as far as the bacteria, well, use a LOT of Listerine DAILY! And keep bacteria levels low by brushing well and flossing too. Your tongue will be less likely to get infected.
