Is it natural for my braces' brackets to loosen?!

Question: I got braces put on today, feb 1, and every hour or so one of my brackets make a really loud snaping noise and i feel temporary relief of the pressure but then it get worse than it was before the loud snapping noise! after this happens the same bracket seems very very loose and the apoxy starts to crumb of in chunks, could these be teeth that my orthadontist wanted to act as spacers?? Any answer would be great..

in x-treme pain,

Your braces are just settling into your teeth. Some of the apoxy is excess, so you should expect it to come off. Don't worry about the brackets unless they actually come unhinged. If you can literally spin the bracket around, it's come off and you need to go to the orthodontist.

The pressure you are feeling is going to last for a while, and because it is so severe, when any kind of relief occurs, it will feel extremely loose. The pressure will let up in a little while.

Make sure you have a whole lot of orajel on hand, it will save your mouth!

don't think so

Call your orthodontist right away. Your brackets are coming off and that should not be happening. This will delay your treatment and make you have to wear braces longer every day you go without getting the braces fixed.

No, your braces are popping off. Call the dentist.

Sounds like some of your brackets just popped off/broke. Call your dentist and let him know. I am sure the pain is from having the braces on and tightened. You whole mouth will feel sore each time you get them tightened or adjusted.

I had braces for three years.

Mine NEVER did that. Call your orthodontist NOW!

I just popped a bracket today (10 minutes ago) trying to floss. I could wiggle it when I first had them put one LAST week. It's 11 on a Friday night so I will have to hold tight until Monday I guess. I was told it was minor...hope so.
