If you start flossing every day how long will it take for your gums to heal?!
Question:
If you start flossing every day how long will it take for your gums to heal?
Obviously this will be different for different stages of decay, but put I would like the amount of time across different tiers of decay if possible. Thanks!
Answers:
Flossing will not fix cavities (decay) in the teeth. However, it should help your gums get healthier. If you have bleeding when you begin to floss regulary it should become less of a problem. If you haven't had your teeth cleaned in a while you should make an appointment as flossing won't remove the hardened buildup (also called tartar or calculus). If the hard buildup isn't removed it will continue to be a source of infection (also called gingivitis) for your gums until it is. So do yourself a favor and have a cleaning, cavity checking xrays and then be phenomenal with your homecare. Hope this helps!
