It could be until the expander is taken out if that is the direct cause, or until if you adjust to it...most people about 1-2 weeks. If the lisp is caused by air going through your upper front teeth, then it might not get fixed until the teeth get pulled back together. Either way, people are pretty used to hear lisps from people in braces...I wouldn't worry too much about it. Take care.
