Why did my toothbrush start to smell bad?!

Question: I keep a toothbrush at work in a plastic ziplock bag in a drawer in my desk. I just started doing this a month ago because I decided I like to brush my teeth after lunch. Today I opened my toothbrush bag and the toothbrush smelled terrible! Why did this happen? How come this doesn't happen to my toothbrush at home? What can I do to prevent this from happening in the future? I don't want to have to replace my work toothbrush every few weeks - that would get expensive.

get a travel holder for the toothbrush, they need to be able to dry out between uses or bacteria grows and it smells horrendous. A travel holder has holes in it to allow air to move thru, while a baggy will simply keep moisture in.

you coworkers sabbotaged it

Probally chemicals from te ziplock bags

maybe some one is using it to clean there shoe or something. Who knows...

It was stinky because the bacteria was having a party in the wet plastic baggy. You need to let your toothbrush dry between uses.

You gotta let it breathe!

Trap all the moisture in the bag and you are going to get mold and mildew.

You don't want green fuzzy stuff growing on your tongue do you?

Oh, it is because you put in a zip lock bag where it probably started to mold! It needs air to dry so it will not mold.

You need to replace it so it does not make you sick.

number one..your toothbrush... people have a tendancy of brushing their teeth, but when washing it, its not clean enough. so the stuff stays on it.

MAybe thatts ur case, and then u put it in da ziplog bag. i advise u to wash it wthi hot water, then cold water....

cos u got worms

dark moist warm place in your desk, it is probably mold, mildew or fungus growing on it. At home it is out in the open so it can dry out, which retards the growth of those things mentioned
