Question:

Root canal done two weeks ago, temp. cap on..still have pain?

I felt pressure and pain. Called dentist had antibiotics over the weekend, saw her today and she said, cap still intact and said it was too high and ground it down...why would it have gotten infected?

Answers:

I had an infected tooth about a month ago. It was the worst pain I had been in in my entire life! I was so bad. I had major swelling, it went up behind my nose and everything. I had to be on antibiotics for two weeks before they did the root canal because the infection blocked the novacaine from working. Finally I got it done. It took a while for the infection to drain. I had pain for about a month after the root canal. Pressure as well. It finally went it away. It just takes a little time.

Teeth can get infected for many reasons. Mine had major trauma to it (75% was gone). Someone took the liberty to knock it out for me. It got infected after that. Sometimes it just happens.
