I'mgetting my braces off Wednesday [4 days]. Anything i should know?!

I got mine taken off on october 3rd of 07 (yes i still remember the day!) It didn't hurt hardly at all. They put your two retainers in your mouth (if you're getting medal wire ones glued on the back of your teeth,) and then they had the doctor check them. The doctor gave an Ok, and they took this utensil and just started popping them off. There were four that hurt (the 4 bottom ones in the front) but they let me bite on these cotton things that they have at my orthodontist and it was over in a second. My back ones (the ones that connect all the wires and brackets together) it tasted really gross because food that gets stuck in those doesn't come out while you have your braces on so that was one of the most disgusting tastes. After they get the braces off, i personally had a little blood, you might too, they let you brush your teeth and rinse your mouth out. They'll then get the mold for your hollywoods (the clear retainers that you wear at night) and they ask you (atleast mine did) if i wanted to get a medal retainer that goes across my teeth. I said no thank you and thats it. I waited an hour for my hollywood to be done and then they released me with a new smile and a whole lot of confidence. It was as simple as that. I hope everything goes well =)

Just be sure to wear your retainer regularly so you don't undo what took years to do.
Yeah me too! 17 more days of hell until there off. I think it will be like getting them on the orthodontist will tell you what you should do. Also if you are getting a retainer they will tell what you can do.
Dont eat food that is too hard because you might mess up your teeth. When you get your retainer where it everyday and night.
Lol, not really. I have a retainer now, and basically you just sit there while to Orthodonist takes this tool and pops off the brackets.
Anything anyone says about pain is a lie, don't believe it.
They also take this drill thing and get the remaining cement off your teeth. It is quite quick and quite painless. Have fun!

I have braces. Getting them off soon aswell. It might hurt. Oh yeah, make sure you brush your teeth PROPABLY before you go the the dentist. And umm, just relax. I might not be as bad afterall.

Get a good cleaning and check up by your regular dentist. Wear your retainer!!!! Smile
make sure you brush and floss really good before you go and make sure that you eat a lot and always where your retainer
