I figured out a very good way to whiten teeth without anything expensive--and the results are amazing!

1. Be sure to floss really well.
2. Go buy a metal tooth scraper (you can get one at any Walmart--just ask someone if you can't find it) to remove the plaque off of your teeth--this is the same process used by dentists during regular cleanings and checkups!!!
3. After nothing else comes off of your teeth when scraping, (make sure to scrape all sides--and especially the fronts of your teeth because they're the main visible ones) then rinse with a solution of half hydrogen peroxide and half water. (Example: 1oz of water + 1oz hydrogen peroxide = 2oz of rinsing solution.) You should rinse with this solution for at least 30 seconds, preferrably 1 minute. Swish it around like you would mouthwash, but make sure not to swallow any!
4. Brush your teeth with normal toothpaste for at least two minutes and make sure not to miss a spot. (Hard-bristled brushes work the best.)
5. Finally rinse with the hydrogen peroxide solution (from step 3) again for 30 seconds. (You might want to rinse with water after this because this process will make your mouth a little dry. I usually have to drink some water after.)

I don't suggest doing this more than once a week, however after you have done this more than two times you can use straight hydrogen peroxide without any water when rinsing. I guarantee that if you do a good job your teeth with be visibly whiter--usually after the very first time! This process has never failed for me and I have the whitest teeth that I've ever had in my entire life. Good luck!

Do not do that yourself. Use Crest Whitestrips or any of the other tooth whiteners on the market. Peroxide is stronger than this other stuff and peroxide not mixed with other chemicals can damage the enamel of your teeth.

use peroxide and baking soda and it rele whitens your teeth

Using peroxide over extended periods of time will cause your gums to become "spongey" and unhealthy. It will also cause a disgusting condition called "hairy tongue", where the taste buds on your tongue become long and it looks like you have a hairy tongue.
Peroxide alone can also damage your enamel, making it brittle and sensitive.
My advise? Skip the bottle of peroxide and see a dentist or hygienist about safer alternatives to tooth whitening.
