can ur dentist switch ur retainers from the clear ones u wear nightly to da temporarily permanent metal ones (not braces) if u wnat him 2? + y r there 2 different kinds?

I am thinking that instead of your retainers being clear you want the part that covers the roof of your mouth to be metal. If this is the case, I haven't seen it done for orthodontic reasons, only for a person to have a "partial" made that is to replace lost teeth. If it could be done it would probably be very costly.
