While the area is still healing, you should rinse with mouthwash ea. time you eat or drink. ( I rec Listerine)Because the mouth contains a high bacterial count, infections will form easily if not maintained. Yes, it will burn, but its all a part of the decision to get a piercing. Good Luck.
