Many people like to tell horror stories about having there Wisdom Teeth removed, just to make conversation, when in reality it is one of the easier surgery performed. If there bothering you then your body is telling you something is wrong. Generally there is not enough room for normal eruption and the tissue gets inflamed from chewing on it or food impacted under it. It is better to get your Wisdom Teeth removed before they erupt through the tissue. The doctor can make an incision, remove the tooth and place a suture(stitch) to close the surgical site. Leading to a decreased chance of a dry socket. At your age the roots of your wisdom teeth will not have fully developed making the procedure even easier. You can have just the one taken out if you choose, but having 4 different surgeries is a waste of time. Get them all out at once and get on with life. Remember your Smile is the gateway to a happy life.

Your dentist can do xrays and stuff to tell if your wisdom teeth are impacted and need to be removed. Even if they are not in yet, they can see if they are going to be impacted.

I am more than twice your age and I ignored the dentists and kept all of mine and have had zero problems. I have never heard of anyone having only one wisdom tooth removed- they usually do them in twos. The only reason I can think of why your mom would be so set on doing this one NOW, is that it may be tilted and putting pressure on your other teeth and working against the braces. Did the dentist say anything about that? FYI, not everyone gets all 4 of their wisdom teeth- ever.

don't be stupid, mother knows best!

This is something you need to discuss with your general dentist....ask your orthodontist the next time you see him/her too. You really should have x-rays of all 4 teeth and then have the decision made as you can't really tell just by looking in your mouth...Your mom is in no position to decide when/if these teeth should be removed....sorry Mom.
