Are regular dentists qualified to administer Invisalign?
My dentist offers Invisalign. I’ve been with him for years and trust him. He says I am only an express case with is about $2,600. Is he qualified to give me Invisalign or should I go to an orthodontist?
Answers:
Some dentists are certified to do some minor ortho work. They offer a course on Invisalign. Ortho certificate requires your dentist to spend one weekend of every month for 2 years learning ortho in an established program. If he has that certification, he is qualified to do this work. Otherwise, I'm not sure the regulations on that.
