Bad breath comes from bacteria multiplying in your mouth. That's why "morning breath" is such a common thing. Overnight is the most productive time for bacteria to thrive inside your mouth, mainly between your teeth since that's where most of the harmful bacteria take up residence. They know people do not floss or otherwise clean inbetween their teeth, so that's where they hide. Food gets lodged between your teeth whether you know it or not, and basically rots. This is how the bacteria that causes gum disease, tooth decay, and several other conditions in the mouth, is kept alive. You must remove, or at least disturb, the colonies of those harmful bacteria in order to get rid of your bad breath. This means flossing between your teeth and as far underneath the gum as you can on a daily basis. Believe me, flossing sucks, but it is a necessary evil. Besides that, think of me as you are grudginly flossing your teeth daily: I am a dental hygienist and I only ask that my patients floss once a day. Meanwhile, I am flossing 8 to 9 peoples' teeth daily, then have to go home and floss my own.

Floss. Are you brushing long enough? Time yourself. It should take 2 to 3 minutes. Most people take only 30 seconds. Use a mouth rinse like Act Restoring Mouthwash, It has Fluoride that will strengthen your teeth. Have you had your teeth cleaned by a Dental Hygienist within the last 6 months. Trapped bacteria and Tartar are major causes of halitosis. What foods are you eating? Onions, garlic, spicy foods, alcohol are just some lingering odors causers.
