How long does it take for the hole of an extracted wisdom tooth to close.?!

Question: i had it done Monday, it is now Super bowl Sunday. It does not hurt but it seems to look the same as it did 2 days ago. When can you actually see it beginning to healing?

The hole should be pretty much closed in a couple weeks. (I think mine took about two or three.) By that time, the holes will probably be filled but still be kinda squishy. It'll take a few more weeks for them to become hard like the rest of your gums.

Just be careful around the holes. Make sure they stay clean (rinse with salt water) or they'll get infected. Don't play with them either. Like, don't poke them with your tongue to see if they're still there. And don't attack them with a toothbrush. Prodding and poking and rubbing will just take the holes longer to fill.

Bear in mind, however, that big holes can be a side effect of getting wisdom teeth removed. Like, I mean ones that last quite a while. That's what one of my oral surgeons said anyway. So, if the holes are still there and it's been many weeks or a couple months or so, then you may want to go back to your oral surgeon and mention it. As far as I know, he or she can probably fix it.

I had mine out the same day you did. I've been told since then, that the amount of time it takes to close can vary, depending on certain things. I've had people tell me it took over a year, and others say it only took a month or 2.

They vary. Mine personally took about 3 months- and about after a month and a half I stopped spraying the water in them to clean them out- they were closing about that much. But, even over a year later, if I push my toung back there, I can still kinda feel a little divit in my gum where they used to be.

As long as you clean it out, don't get an infection or one of those dry-sockets, you will start to see a little healing after 1-2 weeks, but its a slow process.

I personally found, right after I got them out I was looking at them a lot and wondering the same thing, why wernt they healing, but then after I let it go and went on my daily life, they tended to heal faster :-) I know its not possible, it's just how it feels

it take 2 weeks to the gums to heal, rinse with salt water, because the real healing (osteoformation of the bones formations it is up to 6 month)
