Some Gum pain?!

Question:

Some Gum pain?

I have pain in my gum in between my top middle teeth. The pain started on Sunday, the day after I was eating a few candies. I brush 2-3 times a day and I THROUROUGLLY flossed today. If I brush on the gum, it hurts pretty bad. It isn't absolutely horrible, and my teeth don't seem to have any cavities, like I said, just that tiny part of gum hurts pretty bad, not the tooth itself. Please give me some things you might think it is and some cures. Thanks, I really need help!

Answers:

You've most likely scratched your incisive papilla. It is a large bump that rests right behind the 2 Central Incisors. Just rinse with some warm salt water: 2tsps of salt to juice glass size of fairly warm water. It'll go away in about 1-2 days usually. If it turns into an apthus ulcer then it could last about 10 days. Rinse and spit, but no plain water after, do this a few times a day.

You can't expect it to heal within a few hours. Try to leave it alone. Eat soft foods and brush gently with a soft brush. You can make your brush softer by running hot water over it, shake it off and then brush. Use no toothpaste at first (just this area) to avoid any stinging. Resume toothpaste the next day.
