Decay can reoccur under fillings sometimes. And, fillings can go bad. You might have even lost a piece of it. Better get it checked out. For pain, take Tylenol as directed or, if you are not asthmatic or allergic, simply suck a single aspirin tablet directly on the sore spot. Avoid hot and cold fluids and foods. Pain means something's wrong. Don't let it go because much worse complications, like mastoiditis and meningitis can occur secondary to neglected dental infections.

Thanks, good lookin'. Go to the dentist. That's an order. (Ex-Army nurse.) : ) Report It

  • they could have cracked the tooth while filling it , that happened to me once i was living on pain killers for a week and finally went back to the dentist and had it removed alltogether as it was a side one that didnt show
i would contact dentist if i were you and get them to look at it quick, stress you are in pain

sometimes, even when a cavity is drilled out, the dentist might've missed a small little bit of it, which over time can grow to a bigger cavity, causing the pain. Usually the reason why your teeth hurt in that situation is because the cavity has hit the nerve, and that'll mean you'd need to get a root canal.

But, to be optimistic, I'd say that there's probably a piece of the filling that chipped off, and it's exposing the part that was filled, causing sensitivity and pain....so either way, get it checked out...
